A graphic score modelled on the ‘The Sanctuary’ – a long-lost timber and stone circle at Overton Hill, Avebury in Wiltshire – excavated by Maud Cunnington in 1930.

The score was created in IanniX and sounded through Pure Data. Each of the seven rings is assigned an oscillator and pitched according to the distance from the centre point (C3) of a cursor travelling along its curve, at a scale of 10 metres per octave. A VCF filter sweeps back and forth through the audible frequency range per complete cycle.
