Exploring the mysterious energies and effects of sounds invoked by ancient symbols and sacred geometry.
The symbols and shapes are used as graphic scores, redrawn in graphical sequencing software (IanniX). A cursor running along each continuous line is programmed (in Pure Data) to produce and control the parameters of a separate tone based on its position and distance from the centre-point. Each symbol forms a unique sonic motif and interplay of pitch and rhythm that gradually shifts in and out of phase.
The work was displayed in a selection of Folkestone’s New Age shops during Profound Sound 2022.
