Image scans and data from historic borehole records (from the British Geological Survey), detail the geological make-up and presence of water, at various depths and locations along the Pent and Foord valleys.
Local records for the area date back to before the last century and contain vivid descriptions of the geology. In modern records, the strata is usually described using graphic symbols, patterns and hatching styles.
Images are set in motion, moving down through the layers of rock and the passage of time. Visual and numeric data may also be transcribed into electronic sound.
